Kay Seim

Director, Behavioral Health Center

Kay SeimKay Seim is currently serving as Director of EIRMC’s Behavioral Health Center (BHC), which provides in-patient mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as a Residential Treatment Center for teens ages 13-17.  Her duties include overall supervision for BHC and liaison to administration at EIRMC. 

Kay has an extensive background in leadership roles with mental health organizations.  Most recently, as Division President for Psychiatric Solutions, she was responsible for 12 behavioral

healthcare facilities treating geriatrics, adults, adolescent and children on an in-patient and out-patient basis in three different states.   Prior to that, Kay served for five years as Executive Director of the Perinatal Treatment Center.  There, she ran residential treatment centers for chemically dependent/emotionally disturbed pregnant and parenting women.

Kay is also active in causes close to her heart.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for Total Living Choices and Perinatal Treatment Services, works with the Washington Women’s Foundation, and is a participant in the Robert Wood Johnson Speakers Bureau.

Kay is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  She earned a Masters  of Arts in Education (Counseling Psychology) from Seattle University, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Central Washington University.

Kay comes to us from the Seattle area, and has two grown sons.  The first question Kay gets from others in Idaho Falls is “how are you tolerating the weather?”  Kay assures us she is tolerating it just fine, as she was born and raised in Eastern Washington.
