National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is a nation-wide grassroots mental health advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. They focus on three cornerstones of activity that offer hope, reform, and health: awareness, education, and advocacy. The local branch of the organization can be reached by calling (208) 523-2394. 

Suicide Prevention Action Network

SPAN is an organization dedicated to preventing suicide through public education and awareness. They can be reached by calling 1-800-273-8255.

Addiction Rehabilitation Association (ARA)

This is an Idaho Falls-based residential treatment center for chemical dependence. It's a private, non-profit facility geared toward helping those who might not otherwise be able to afford treatment.

Idaho Substance Use Disorder Services

This web page helps those with substance abuse problems locate local public and private agencies that may be able to provide appropriate care, treatment or financial assistance. You can call 1-800-922-3406 to speak to a representative. The service is a division of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Ogden Regional Alcohol and Chemical Treatment (ACT)

This is a 28-day, full-service substance abuse treatment program approved by most private insurance companies. Government assistance may be available. Call 1-801-479-2250 to speak with a representative.

Based in Pocatello, this substance abuse treatment facility does not accept Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. Call 1-208-233-9135 to speak with a representative

The Walker Center

This facility, located in Gooding, Idaho, is a non-profit chemical dependency treatment center. Most insurance companies will cover treatment costs. The Walker Center can be reached by phone at 1-800-227-4190.
